Been seeing some posts etc being posted on social media related to how the western media has been covering the Ukraine crisis, we already saw one CBS journalist apologise for his comments but it seems quite a bit more common in relation to the perception of some racism.

Poorly chosen words by the media or words misinterpreted out of context?

1. BBC (UK)
“It’s very emotional for me because I see European people with blue eyes and blonde hair being killed” - Ukraine’s Deputy Chief Prosecutor, David Sakvarelidze

2. CBS News (USA)
"This isn't Iraq or Afghanistan... This is a relatively civilized, relatively European city" - CBS foreign correspondent, Charlie D’Agata

3. Al-Jazeera
"What's compelling is looking at them, the way they are dressed. These are prosperous, middle-class people. These are not obviously refugees trying to get away from the Middle East... or North Africa. They look like any European family that you'd live next door to."

4. BFM TV (France)
"We are in the 21st century, we are in a European city and we have cruise missile fire as though we were in Iraq or Afghanistan, can you imagine?!”

5. The Daily Telegraph (UK)
"This time, war is wrong because the people look like us and have Instagram and Netflix accounts. It's not in a poor, remote country any more." - Daniel Hannan

6. ITV (UK)
"The unthinkable has happened...This is not a developing, third world nation; this is Europe!"

7. BFM TV (France)
"It's an important question. We’re not talking here about Syrians fleeing... We're talking about Europeans."

.. and then there is this:

"To put it bluntly, these are not refugees from Syria, these are refugees from Ukraine ... They're Christians, they're white. They're very similar [to us]"
- explaining why Poland is accepting refugees

And then there's reports of Poland denying entry for Nigerian Ukrainians after they opened their borders to Ukrainian people wanting to flee to safety...

The Sky News reporter who interviewed the Russian MP, who incidentally says that he feels Putin has made a mistake invading Ukraine. He thinks it is a major mistake and the cost-benefit isn’t worth it. He says it will bring too much damage to Russia. However when asked in the event that NATO got involved, would Putin hesitate to use nuclear weapons, he said no, not at all. We pretty much knew this, but that's still scary nonetheless.

if that's true then the Russian Gov. have just admitted that they've lost over 6150 troops already! They really are getting a seeing too by Ukraine.
You can see why the troops are putting holes in their fuel tanks.
Conscript "Jeez I thought this would be over already what happened to all those guys we waved off a few days ago"
Seargent "well son the Enemy was waiting on them at the side of the road and tore them all to piecies"
Conscript "Dam that was bad luck, but what about those other guys we sent the a couple of days ago"
Seargent "well son the Enemy was waiting on them at the side of the road and tore them all to piecies too"
Conscript, Seargent, can I borrow a big screwdriver"

@Droolinggimp Can you do the nukemap using the 800kt Topol please? That’s the standard Russian nuke. They Tsar bomba never went further than a test as a show of strength.

Nukemap looks like its getting a pounding, taking ages to load if at all. Looks like Putin is desperatly trying to see what damage he can get away with if he drops a small nuke on Ukraine :D

Remember Ukraine has a border with Poland. The Ukranians are not travelling through multiple countries to find 'safety'.

Well this is awkward.

Number 5 looks like a criticism piece though.
