The rapid arm waving also shows two things - the EU is moving correctly to appear stronger and there is a build up to the May 9th when I'd assume Putin wants to call for all out cold-war footing to protect the motherland.
I'm guessing at this point measures are being taken to prevent it being used against them rendering it less useful until they find the next vulnerability. Otherwise would seem odd to be open about it.
Not sure Russia will look for a way out of this war as people are hoping/expecting. If they are losing that badly they will probable turn to scorched earth one way or another.

if so, we've been doing a hell of a lot of it to them.What is interesting is that there seem to be two levels of Russian FM communications - a general principled 'lavrov' and a 'lavrov' that sounds more like North Korea. I still wonder why they report anything w.r.t negotiations given Putin's demands seem to be (a) give me country and people to execute and (b) no negotiations until military has achieved point (a) and Putin approves the end of military action with a Treaty of Putin's own demands that he would then expect the west to sign (they wont) so the Cold War remains. This assumes Putin holds onto wins.
It seems from Lavrov that Puin is attempting to bring china's "internal problem" with Taiwan into the mix which means India (as a Russia-China-India-SA) partner will be expected to be drawn into it. Probably would be good if the Japanese islands that Russia annexed started having problems in the same way that Russia near Ukraine has. No formal action but it would distract the Russian military.
