200mm wafers with nodes as small as 180 nm:

Wiki says that 180 nm was leading edge back in 1999 or so:

Processors using 180 nm manufacturing technology
It does make it on the Wiki list of fabs:

Look for Newport Wafer FAB (Formerly Infineon Technologies)

The UK has a fab? Lol

More than 'a' fab. There are a few. Years ago, I used to deal with one down on the edge of Dartmoor (building fab plants on granite is an excellent idea) when it was VLSI (producing ARM processors), and has now been sold on a few times. There are also plants on Tyneside, around Manchester and the Scottish Central Belt. Not necessarily geared up with processes for GPU silicon, but nevertheless silicon fabrication plants.

Companies ultimately owned by Chinese investors have been buying up UK manufacturing companies for quite a while now. I worked for an Aerospace company for long time that the Chinese tried to buy, the owners were willing to sell but because we made a lot of military parts the UK government stepped in and did a review to decide if the sale was allowed. The company hit hard times shortly after due to COVID so I'm not sure if the Chinese pulled out or the government blocked the sale in the end. But the point was, the Chinese have been buying up a lot of the UKs manufacturing companies over recent years and they are usually hidden behind other company names, it's only when you look further up to the top of the chain that you see that the people at the top with the money are the Chinese.

There are reasons why the Chinese are doing this which is part of a much bigger picture and involves Taiwan and TSMC, etc. the West seems to be sleep walking into a **** show.
