UKTV Gold / Freeview

Hi all,

Just a quick question, on my freeview guide it shows UKTV Gold but when I try to watch anything on it I get a "Scrambled Signal" error, does this mean that Freeview does not recieve this channel (isn't shown on the freeview website) and if so why is it on the TV guide?

Can anyone help?

Yeah, I have the same problem if I want to use freeview, but I get no picture at all for UKTV Gold.

You need a freeview box with a decoder card thing and you have to pay £8pm subscription

I believe you need a 'Top Up TV' card in your freeview box to watch these channels. Same for discovery channel and eurosport I believe.

Ah right, the decoder is built into the TV so I will look into that.

Im looking into that as I type but it seems as though in order to get Top Up TV you have to have one of their boxes.

I've currently got an EyeTV 410 from Elgato plugged into my iMac and want to get things like Discovery and Eurosport but I cant seem to find out what card(s) I need... :confused:

I hate that - I love UK TV Gold - it's got Allo Allo and Only Fools and Horses on it. That'd make freeview awesome :/

You can use any freeview box with a TOTV card reader, but will not be able to use TOTV ANYTIME with a normal box.

£8pm for that, and a handful of mindless crap that is on sky and no one watches? Waste of money.

But yeah, you need Top Up TV.

You need a TopUpTV CAM

edit: didn't notice, but luckily your box has the slot for the CAM, as stated above. I don't think TopUpTV sell the non-Anytime package anymore though.

Need Top Up TV
