Ultima H²OC Trident Quad Core WaterCooled System - unstable, not working

It still sounds like you need to do maintenance on your loop, it had prob clogged up with the crap they put in feser and when you moved the res/pump it dislodged it enough to allow flow, Id still drain and clean then just use deionised water with a kill coil, read up in the forum (3rd one down) so you know what youre doing
Not sure about your temp monitor

I have the same PC as you and here's my thread for an almost identical problem (and Lizards problem) - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17930178&highlight=h2oc+trident - I hope yours would be as simple to fix.

It turned out that the W/C rad was full of air, so the fluid wasn't being cooled down and the pump was having a hard time. I unscrewed the rad from the case (with the power off and some replacement Feser fluid ready) and turned it so the tubes were at the top and switched power on. the air was bled from the Rad and then I switched power off, topped up the res (very simple) and kept doing this until all the air was gone. Then I reattached the rad back to the case and haven't had any problems since. About twice a year I do this and it sits at 30'c all day long.

***EDIT*** - I notice that OC's newer Watercooled systems use a res 2x bigger and with a pump 3x more powerful for the same level of O/C, can't be a coincedence???

remove the watercooling.

OCUK shouldnt sell Watercooled stuff to people who dont have a clue imo...

Tak it all out and replace with a decent 30-40£ Air cooler, that way no maintinace

OC incorrectly sold it as a "maintenace free" system, and the less technically minded may not be confident in taking it apart for maint. My own version of "maint" was the rad bleed and top-up of the fluid and mines been going 2+ years fine (once the initial issue was solved).

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'll have a read of the watercooler maintenance stuff and decide whether I'm up for the job.

If not, what would be a good heatsink/fan to replace this setup with?

Rather than buy a heatsink why dont you pay for someone to do a service on your rig? I bet even overclockers could sort something.

@ianh Exactly what items do I need to buy to perform this maintenance? I want to buy them today.

Not sure which fluid is already in there, what is the volume of fluid in the unit? also I will prob need to buy a funnel right? Is this the stuff: Feser One UV Blue Cooling Fluid 1 Litre £7.16

I see a little excess air in the tubes when it is turned off, but when it is on there is no excess air visible.

Thanks

I like in Kilburn, London. Anywhere nearby that could do it? It is quite a hassle for me though as this machine is a beast to move and I have no car.

If I know what to buy, I can follow instructions and do this myself

There should be someone close to you on here. you might get lucky and if you find somebody of the forum, they will prob just charge you tea and bacon butties...

i might be able to sort it for a small fee :P i live in Stanmore/Edgware north london so not to far. Message me via trust and i can try to sort something out for you mate.
