Hello,

Ordered one of these systems on Thursday (not come yet) for next day delivery (Saturday supposedly) Ultima OC 8800GTX SLI" Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @ X6850+ 3.00GHz+ Quad Core SILENT DDR2 System

And I notice the clocks' keep going down. It was "@3.2 (and beyond)When I ORDERED, and "@3.4" last week on one system with a Q6600 now though, its @3.0. Also the post by

GIBBO alerted me somewhat, to a possibilty that they can't boot these up on a Striker MOBO (which is what its got) @3.2+?

Anyone from Overclockers know why the clock speeds been lowered to 3.0?

TIA

Are you sure they haven't changed the CPU? They may have been claiming 3.4GHz with an E6750/6850 or QX6700?

Well, it *WAS* "Quad 6600 2.4 @3.2Ghz and beyond" @""yet to be released 6950 speeds"" Now it is: "Q6600 2.40GHz @ X6850+ 3.00GHz". Also, it was "If you select the 4GB Memory Upgrade option then the CPU overclock is reduced to 3.0GHz region to maintain stability with all four memory banks filled.

..Now it is: """If you select the 4GB Memory Upgrade option then the CPU overclock is reduced to 2.80GHz - 3.00GHz region to maintain stability with all four memory banks filled""".

Compare it with this system: "Ultima OC 8800GTX" Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @ X6950+ 3.30GHz+ Quad Core SILENT DDR2 System This one has an Abit IP35-Pro Intel P35 mobo, but the one I ordered has a "Striker Extreme" MOBO. Surely it must be overcockable to the above system?

I ordered this last Thursday, for "next day delivery" (which in this case was Saturday) also rang them up and they told me it would be here before 12 noon Saturday Oct 13th . Well, not received it yet.....(although my card has been debited, and yet to receive a single email of ANY sort) When I look at my account, it keeps saying "printed in our warehouse"

Maybe they are having problems configuring it???

Give them a call and find out whats going on.

Yes, just called them, and they apparently have a "Frequency" issue with my particular system (they're working on ten), and hope to get it sorted ASAP. Why does it seem i im waiting for a pc to be repaired - that a new one delivered:confused:

Anyway, he told me that although the MOBO (Striker Extreme) is in all the 10 systems they're working on, each one is "different" and some overclock easier than others. He told me that they won't send it out anyway unless its fully working, and they test 3dmark on it... should be here tomorrow - perhaps...

What the hell will you be playing on this monster? :D

I guess you must have a large TFT will a silly resolution? My ageing system punches thought 1280x1024 at full detail no probs... hence I never see the desired of SLI-ing and spending £1k + on a system, especially when mine didn't even cost a third of that.

Well i got a few qwid janggling a hole in my pocket lets say:D. as for the tft, i've got a samsung 226bw ( (1680x1050 Resolution) but may upgrade to the 24 inch one, is this monitor good?

cheers

Well,

Overclockers Rang me up tonight at 5pm, and told me they are having "major" problems with the/my PC build, and batch of some MOBO's, and that it would take a long while to get it sorted (in as many words) So he asked my if I wanted a refund, I accepted.

Very good of OcuK to ring back though, oh well... :)
