Ultra Portable notebook coming

Apparently a new ultra portable notebook is going to be announce in February next year.

I'm not really sure why they feel the need to bring this sort of thing out, because the current macbooks are light as it is.

Thoughts ?

No I wouldn't describe it as ultra-portable, but I was wondering what the target market is.

Only people I can think of is either students or those people that sit in Starbucks writing stuff.

Thinking about it, I can see a market for people who have a bigger PowerMac who want a bit of portability. They wouldn't be using it to do work, but just to access data/internet on the go.

Leaving out the optical drive will make it a lot slimmer, but you can only make it as wide as the keyboard needs to be. Hopefully they won't put in a horrible little keyboard which would be a pain to use.

I was looking around for a while for a decent power laptop, the Macbook Pro was the best I could find in terms of a size/weight/power compromise.
