Hi there, I just wondered if anyone new the difference between an unbranded 8800GTX and say a BFG model ? Im a little confused as to why they are unbranded, they are obviously being made by someone! Are there any performance issues with an unbranded card

Im interested because you can get an unbranded GTX for £311 whereas you would pay £50 more for a branded equivalent

any help on this would be greatly appreciated

They are all the same, all made in the same factory, only differences are warranty, what software you get, if its pre-overclocked or not, and the name of the brand stuck on the HSF, and theres the odd one that has a slightly differing cooler, like EVGA, and thats about it, so theres no harm at all getting the cheapest brand, as they all overclock very well, and they will easily go to, and surpass the pre-overclocked ones speeds if you want to do it yourself. :)

Also EVGA do a 90 days step-up, where by if a new card comes out within 90 days, you can send yours back for the full retail price you paid for it, and just pay the difference for the new card.

I got myself a PoV brand GTX and it works fine, havent tried to overlclock it as it plays everything I throw at it just fine. The only niggle I did have is that although the GTX needs 2 PCI-E power connectors it was only supplied with 1 :(

Shop around there are some decent offers about. I think it is at the stage where if you look around the price difference between the GTS 640 and the GTX makes the GTS a poor choice.

Also I think OcUK should lower the price of there branded GTX, other e-tailers have the same card cheaper with a very nice game bundle.
