Bentley has pulled out of the squad. Reckons he's "fatigued". Stupid idiot left it until now and its too late for Pearce to call up a replacement :rolleyes:

The squad was only announced a week ago, surely he could have just said then, England duties can't have taken that much out of him, he didn't even play.

Anywho, fixtures:

Czech Republic - Monday 11th
Italy - Thursday 14th
Serbia - Sunday 17th

Not sure on KO times. Italy game will be interesting, plenty of good players on show and I havn't watched Rossi play in a while, bar highlights, so i'm looking forward to that.
 
Bentley is a disgrace. To drop your country in it like that is shocking.

Looking forward to the Championships, should be good. Theres some good talent kicking about these days, so it should be very entertaining.

Just watched about 10 minutes of the portugal/belgium game. Nani looks pretty good, not afraid to get stuck in/track back either from what I can tell.
 
Must admit Pearce has come across as a bit of a hypocrite, saying that the U21 job needs a fulltime manager - and yet he was perfectly happy to accept the post on a part-time basis :confused:
 
Haha yea.. what did whats his face the Crystal Palace manager say? It requires a full time job I can't do it part time.. Pearce ? No no I can do it.. then he gets sacked by City and suddenly hes changed his tune.. On yer bike :p
 
Just read elsewhere that Kieran Richardson was substituted during the England game today after a poor performance, he didn't shake the hand of the player replacing him or pat his back, but instead slowly walked off the pitch sulking straight past Pearce and the rest of the team on the bench and down the tunnel to the dressing room. What an arrogant self serving little **** he is. I cannot wait until the doors at Old Trafford hit his ass on the way out.

The guy thinks he's a big time star, probably on something like £30,000 a week. Sickens me to death it does. Pearce should refuse to select him for the rest of the tournament. He didn't even want to sit amongst his fellow players and support the lads on the pitch. He's one of the few players I'd actually have words with if I met them in real life.
 
Yep he just stormed off.. pathetic attitude.. he must think he is hot stuff since he (rarely) plays for Manchester United and has (a few) England caps.
 
I watched the second half, as far as I could tell his contribution to the game (apart from getting booked) consisted of missing an open goal header from 4 yards, and dribbling 30 yards sideways across the pitch before losing possession and rolling around on the floor crying.

The commentator suggested that the doctor did follow him down the tunnel a short while after however.

Lita did look a bit nervy before his pen when they did the close up - he pounced on the opportunity to take it, but when the moment came I think he was caught in two minds about what to do with it.
 
Rossi plays against England tonight for Italy 21's. I hope it's a good game. Other news is that Richardson looks set to be dropped. :D

Looks like Bentley pulled out ebcause he thinks he can make the main England squad for 2008.

If i were Macca I'd ring him up and say his stupid little stunt has lost him any chance of being involved.

Of course he won't because he's gutless but you never know.

Any particular player standing out from the tournament overall?
