This is the chain of events,

Last friday talking to the boss, mention i have the house to myself this weekend as everyone is away.
Sunday night, go to bed feeling like ****, spend most of the night with hot and cold sweats, finally fall asleep at some point, only to wake up at 10am (2 hours after i was ment to be at work).
Look at my phone wondering why the alarm hasnt gone off, phone wont switch on.
Call the boss (on the house phone) to let him know whats going on, he pretty much accuses me of trying to pull a sickie. Mentions about my parents being away and that i should have called before my shift if i was up all night.

So here i am, feeling like ****, at home alone, phone on the blink and the boss accusing me of pulling a sickie. So not only do i have the bug to deal with, but i get to worry about what my boss is thinking for when i get back to work :(

If he wont believe you, you could always go to the doctor and pay for a GP note confirming you look and feel rough and then charge your employer the fee for obtaining proof of sickness.

An in future, never let your boss know your parents are away.

Same thing happened to me,was told i had to be at a christining on sunday when im supposed to be at work.

Phoned work to say i wont be in cause im sick,i return to work and get moaned at cause they said that i said i was too ****** to come in!

I told them next time i wont bother going with procedure phoning in sick i'll just not turn up.

No swearing

Huh? So you did throw a sicky? Infact, what are you even trying to say? Your post makes no sense.

Uh,well i've had warning and allsorts for being on time for work but being still drunk apparently. So i had been out on saturday and had to go to a christining so i was made phone in sick(as i hadnt booked it off) which i see no problem with. I return to work and they say i was too drunk to come in so i phoned in sick.

Phoning in sick gets you moaned at but if you dont turn up and say "i thought i was on holiday" you just get told not to do it again.

It was actually the first time i had phoned in 'sick' in two years!

This is gonna be fun :p

And.. you see nothing wrong with turning up for work slightly drunk?

You see no problem with phoning in sick when you are not ill? Just.. drunk?

I return to work and they say i was too drunk to come in so i phoned in sick.

You are unbelievable! It sounds like its time you got sacked :p

So basically you went to a christening being drunk, whilst you should be at work?

is he a qualified doctor?

No, then tell him where to stick it and if he wants to carry on he'll have the union on his back so fast his head will spin.

Certainly shut my manager up :)

My workplace is quite good with sick days, you just fill out an aftersick-form which says that you are fit to return to work :)

Unlucky for you though :(
