Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover you for the coming year.

doubt it tbh, you would just receive a quote that is higher than you were expecting - plus i've run quotes recently and noticed no increase.

It'll just be a silly computer says no situation that has caused it. As no human beings really get involved in the decision making process (that you will ever be able to speak to at least) you won't get a better answer.

I sell Ephemera on Ebay and the nearest option in occupations is Antique Dealer and they say they do not cover that option now.

The only thing I can think of is that they think an antiques dealer could be transporting quite valuable goods in the event of an accident, and they don't want to expose themselves to that possibility.

As Ephemera (singular: ephemeron) is any transitory written or printed matter not meant to be retained or preserved (Wiki) How can it be classed as Antique ?

Surely you supply stationery. :D

Glad it ain't a man hate campaign though. :p

Swiftcover are a bit odd like this, they recently did a similar thing to the OP with a friend when he changed his car to an e60 520.

Worth while finding a number and speaking to them directly, this is how my mate resolved his issue, his 520 is still covered by them. :)

His previous car was an e46 M3!?!

Just go elsewhere to be honest.

I dumped Swiftcover years ago as you get a good intial quote on your first policy then they nail you at renewal.

They tried to take my NCB away for a windscreen repair I never had. Spent hours on the phone sorting that out, then they entered my details wrong in the insurance database. My policy was right but I got pulled on my way to work going through an ANPR and almost got my car towed.

Their lack of call room staff can be a nightmare if the police need to call and confirm.

I was going to change to another company anyway, htey were cheapest but their prices have crept up, so they have decided it for me
The trouble is none of the comparison sites seem to have any occupations relating to web sales or anything else to do with the internet, web design etc and dont seem to have caught up with modern day occupations

I doubt the entire £150 is that. It'll be the usual hike and hope you dont notice trick, too.

This.

I was just about to say that sounds like a normal renewal %age increase.

Shop around, you'll get it around or below last year's £350.

Many insurers will have Antique Dealers on their list of occupations they would prefer not to insure, it's an opaque occupation description at best ;).

I had this last year with a different company

The policy was silly cheap so I was expecting a cheap renewal but nope they just told me to get lost
