Uni students - your locals?

I've never had any trouble in bournemouth and only seen a couple of fights, the weekend is pretty bad as people come in from the surrounding area a lot of them on stag/hen nights which is usually entertaining :p

Only go out on Fridays to student-y nights and never, ever, ever, evah! go out on a Saturday. It's grim. Eurgh.

Oxford was always tame when I was at uni there, I was always strange that there weren't any fights, back in home in Plymouth it was always good to come out of JFKs or Millenium (Swillenium) and get some cheesy chips then watch a fight or two :p

In Aber they are horrendous. Usually come out only on a Saturday, and they cause so much trouble, more than what happens on any other night of the week. And more trouble and problems than the students cause, all they do is go out looking for fights, basically just a load of *****.

I went to uni in Aber and found saturday nights got progressively rougher in the 3 years I was there (2004-2007)....it was the locals who only seemed to go out on saturdays that seemed to cause most of the trouble, students got hammered and did silly things but the only people I ever saw fighting or being thrown out were older or clearly local yokels off their trolleys.

Certain places in Aber seemed to attract trouble...the top of town near Academy and Yokos (Why Not) was by Aber standards usually chaotic on a saturday with lots of police and people kicking off, where as Scholars was completely calm and friendly 7 days a week...

Aber nightlife is still quality though, a proper friendly night out, I miss it so much, in the scheme of things its not really rough at all :)

Glasgow is fine on a Saturday. Never had any trouble during the week or at the weekend in 5 and a bit years of being a student. Like someone mentioned earlier Dundee is fine as well as there are so many students. Aberdeen I find to be a bit worse at the weekend than during the week. Might have something to do with people coming off the rigs and needing to blow off steam or coming in from all nearby villages etc. Then again could just be stereotyping.

Awwwwww cmon, Union Street has been like that for years - 9 times out of 10 us Navy lot are scrapping the Marines and keep it between ourselves.

Although I have seen a few times a group of chavvy Plymouthian ****-holes have gone upto a group of marines and see them get battered every time. I mean, a marine is a big muscle bound god of a man and you can spot them a mile away, why would you pick a fight with them??? They have been to war, and would think nothing of punching a Plymouth kid in the face.

Plymouth retards should be shot. End of rant... :)

You're clearly a retard yourself, so I wouldn't be so quick to call judgement on others.

I did my undergrad at Plymouth... Union Street on a Saturday night was a no go area for most students. Always talk of marines and locals having it off and when I went down it really wan't very nice. :p

Where I am now is just a small town, locals seem ok, but then the students probably outnumber the locals most of the time.

Thats because the students are mouthy though. In plymouth we always find lots of violence in the first term in september onwards then it calms down once the students realise they aint hard when their drunk.

Oh god yeah went out in Liverpool last night to our usual student indie bars and they were full of "locals" who seem to all want to look the same with their collared shirts and £1 hair cuts. The thought of GTFO came to mind.
