Verstappen isn't going much quicker than ham this time. He was seconds per lap on the 1st stint.

Pirelli say 40 laps are possible on the hard tyre. Anyone believe that? At least we should be thankful it wasn't an AWS statistic.

He's only dropping a couple of tenths at the moment though, Max isn't taking chunks... Yet

Has to do 26 laps on them. Only did 19 laps on the last set.

Seems rather odd that Max pitted the first set of hards after 18 laps on lap 30, having pitted to get rid of the mediums on lap 12... If I remember the pitting laps correctly.

    Mercedes are waiting too long.

It'll be interesting, at least in F1 levels of interesting, to see if having 7 or 8 lap younger tyres that he can push hard will be enough for Lewis to close up to Max and pass.

    Hards about to go on

Merc are fine. Pitting for hards, he'll go balls to the wall until the end now whereas Max has to nurse his tyres. Lewis wins.

Good stop for Hamilton. Red Bull's stops were a bit lacking today compared to normal.

Shiny new hard tyres for him and away we go.

I wish I had the faith in strategy algorithms that Merc do:eek: If lewis can close that gap this will be a mighty end to the race. I just think the tyres will disappear by the end and neutralise the race.

Vettel yet to stop for a 2nd time.

Anyone going to risk a 3 stopper?
