University interviews...what to expect?

Personally I only had one interview for my undergrad (engineering) and that was a mix of unis. Plymouth and Portsmouth which I guess aren't considered the best then Sheffield and Warwick. The only one that wanted an interview was Bath, which I didn't go to because that was just to fill up the space on my UCAS form.

My MSc application included an informal chat if you went to an open day which I stuffed up well and truly (didn't realise there would be one) but I still got onto it so that suggests that interviews may not be the be all and end all for a lot of applications.

One of the Universities I applied to threw a rugby ball at me as I entered the room. They caught me off guard and I didn't successfully catch it.......off to the next uni interview for me.

The interview is for Economics and they've already told me that I need to bring 2 pieces of work with me from my current FE course. doesn't sound too taxing if most of you just seemed to have a 5 minute 'chat'.

...

What were you looking to study? 'Projectile Form Acquisition' ? :p

I undertook entrance examination tasks in groups, an individual portfolio interview with two of the senior professors, a full review of the written responses we were asked to submit with our applications and finally some Q&A.

Sounds a lot, but if you're a suitable candidate you will find it ~45 minutes of an enlightening experience: REMEMBER - you are interviewing the university also ;)

P.S. What's the course? It's hard to offer bespoke advice when we could be talking about any of the plethora of available subjects.
