Bit of a weird one, got contacted by moorcroft group and spoke on behalf of my partner because she is unable to.

They have just been sold a EE debt from 2008, now that's an awful long time and EE wasn't even established until 2 years after so I assume it was from orange. She has been an EE customer with no other issues so It sounds to me like a shot in the dark to get payments?

I did double check the number calling wasn't fake end requested a copy of the bill in case it's been rolling over for years unknown to her. Is there anything else I can do to sort this?

Statue of limitations applies - debts over six years that aren't acknowledged can't be collected, they are just trying it on. Do *nothing* to admit liability for the debt or even acknowledge it was hers - this resets the clock.

I can't acknowledge its hers anyways as I said to the collection agent I'm responsible for her finances and ensure she doesn't pay out her disability to debts that aren't hers. I hope the bill will clear it up

I thought debts were written off after 6 years

I really hope so, I'd be awfully surprised if the contract was continually rolling since 2008 especially with her being on pay as you go for 2 years and it's not related to her previous contract. I would wonder what the legalities of rolling over for over a decade would be aswell it's not even a huge amount just over £200 nothing makes sense with this one.

Just realised the date the contract was supposedly taken out she wouldn't have even been 18 :/
