Ive just spent all of my luch break wandering around town trying to get my K750i unlocked from O2 and ive had no luck. Most of the independants said they don't do unlocking. 2 of them said they would do it, but one of them didn't have the right software. The other one tried for 15minutes and failed. I then went to orange(The network that my current sim is with) and they sounded confused and sent me to O2. And the guy in O2 gave me a dirty look and walked off as soon as I mentioned unlocking. :(

So has anyone or does anyone know how to unlock the K750i? The anoying thing is that no one would loose out, as the O2 sim is still going to get used in my old phone, its just I want my old number attached to my new phone.

Tried the local market?

Thats where I had my Samsung Z500 locked and I have saw the bloke there unlock numourous other phones as well. Pretty sure a market trader could easily get it done.

That said, if you want to keep your number as well, ever thought of porting it (PAC Code) to O2 from Orange?

Im going to try the market after work. I was told about the PAC Code thing at orange, but was in a bit of a rush, so didn't really take it in. I'd prefer to have it unlocked though. Why is so hard, when my 6310i was easy and free to unlock. :(

Hummm - I didn't think O2 locked phones to networks?
I know that my W800i bought from O2 takes both an Orange & Vodafone SIM and it does so without any unlocking required.

Maybe its not the provider then, maybe its locked to that particular sim. When I try it with my orange sim, it says; "Please insert correct sim card"

Most people here are generally talking about O2 contract phones bring unlocked.

Most of them are unlocked you see but I am not sure about PAYG handsets at all.

Managed to get it done down the market in the end. The guy had a tough time though, as one of the places that had tried before had flashed it with the wrong firmware or something. Glad I got it al sorted now, and my mum can have my old phone and new sim card. :)

Ah - that would possibly make sense :)
I know my W800i and my fiancee's K750i (both O2 contract) would accept Vodafone SIM's without any issue and mine was fine on Orange too.
