Hey about to buy an O2 locked motorola V3 and i wondered how easy it is to unlock this phone? is it manually done? at home? or done in shop?

complete noob with it

help needed! please!

hmmm, if this is true, i am about to get the V3i , so your saying my orange sim would work?

EDIT: just checked the listing and it says "it is in excellent condition, however it is locked to o2 so may need unlocking for other networks."

oh ;o. Sorry I misunderstood. As far as i know, contract phones from o2 are unlocked, I wouldnt know about payg phones. The legitimate way to unlock a phone would be to phone up o2 and ask them to send you an unlock code for it. It normally costs around £20 i think. Or your local market i guess :)

Yep never had a o2 lock phone ever :)

Just buy it, worse case senerio is you'll have to take it to one of those dodgy phone shops who will unlock it for a tenner.
