What do people recommend when it comes to unmanaged 1gig switches in 8 and 16. I was looking at Tplink and Netgear prosafe but I've seen different versions V1 / V2 and v4 along with Soho.

I'm looking for reliability, good features, nothing that will interfere with gaming. Just something that's plug and play and I can forget about as it will be in the loft

i have both tplink and zyxel. i like tplink as ports at the back, signal leds at the front. zyxel in the attic so it doesnt matter. i avoid plastic netgear ones as i had several that randomly lost gigabit speed in various ports, so i binned them

The metal Netgears with the metal network sockets. I trust them more than plastic connectors.

Be careful with Netgear and it’s definition of ‘Lifetime’, it has different meanings in different parts of the world.
