Unreal Engine 3 running great on the Iphone 3Gs...

Good achievement considering it's an iPhone. Wonder what it'll be capable of in a few years time, those graphics certainly look as good as some decent DS games, if not better. :)

Its a disgrace that games released today still use this engine. With so much more powerful graphics cards, whats the point if an iphone can play it?

Nice work tho getting it to work tho.

Yeah engines that can easily scale to whatever hardware they are targeted at without loads of extra work required by the developers suck

Controls on FPS games for the phone are just shocking and that looks no different judging by the guy playing it

Hopefully it's just a demo for the engine rather than a game prototype

The controls ain't that bad, I have modern combat sandstorm for my 3gs and it's easy to get used to the controls, good fun too

Actually for fps games they should adopt the optical d-pad on the SE Xperia... only make it work (the Xperia one glitches too much and has to be turned off) and higher resolution input rather than just 8 directions... for freelook using your thumb it would actually be useable.

My laptop wont fit in my pocket, the battery keep's running out while im on the bus, walking down the road trying to play an fps game holding the laptop in one hand, moving with the other hand and using my nose to aukwardly aim is so much fun but i'll think i'll just use my iPhone instead ;)

looks good, much better than the DS capabilities however... not quite up to the PSP yet, but still a great contender.

I have a DS, PSP & iPhone, and controlls asside the iPhone is way ahead of DS and almost level with PSP and from what i've seen the iPhone will take over the PSP in graphics power. Also take a look at NOVA (like HALO) on the iphone it's better than any FPS i have on my PSP and i have them all ;)

Apple really needs to bring out an official dock you can slide your iphone/itouch in to and gives you propper gaming controls

Looks pretty amazing, and pumaz is right, for the iphone to properly succeed as a gaming console - if you can call it that - is a sort of dock to give it proper gaming controls.
