Untethered GreenposiOn jailbreak for 4.2.1 FW released

Did you do this on an iPhone 4 or below? I found the me.com only works for the iPhone 4? Is this true? Did try it on a 3GS but don't think it's free?

I have an iPhone 4

SO is this jailbreak safe enough then?

Whats the wrose case scenario...normal Apple restore then use the backup to before?

Yes it's safe and yes a restore is pretty much the worst case scenario. Good old DFU mode

Hopefully this fixes the issue with my WiFi refusing to work after switching from GPRS/EDGE/3G to WiFi

Suffered the same thing, I would be outside on 3G/2G/Edge, walk in to work or home, the phone would pick up the Wifi as it would show connected in Settings > Network > Wifi and it would show the phone obtained an DHCP address fine, but the icon in the top left next to 02-UK would stick on Edge/3G and never move on to the WIFI icon, and all internet traffic would route via 2g/edge/3g instead of wifi, and low and behold it wouldnt fix itself until I rebooted the phone.

Turned out to be SBSettings (a JB App) that was causing mine. After uninstalling it, my issue went away. I have just done a fresh install of 4.2.1 on my iPhone 4 and have put the new SBSettings on, so fingers crossed it wont happen again. It would be a shame if it did though, as SBSettings has got to be one of the most useful JB apps out there!

jailbroke mine again last night took a few mins.. so simple. I did a restore then jailbreak because i wanted a fresh phone, iDrive lite backed up all my contacts onto their server, hit restore all my contacts were back including pictures. Awesome ;)

Yup, 100% the same for me, except I didn't have sbsettings (although had it in the past). No problems at all today after coming back into the office from GPRS to WiFi.

Currently RC5 (Release candidate). How many will there be before a final version? Or is this it?

No idea. This one works fine though :D

Nop

Only will if you restore before jailbreaking. This is only 'needed' if you've got a jailbreak applied already

You can update straight from 4.1 jailbroken to 4.2.1 official, and then jailbreak that without losing anything.

In iTunes just update by holding shift, click Update and then choose the 4.2.1 ipsw from your PC.

So either way you don't have to restore or lose anything

Ive got teh JB to work but trying to install Installus via Cydia, but I dont have a manage tab at the bottom!

Right, so its now "sources" > Edd > Add.

Cydia can be a mess I find!..iPad version in landscape is all over the place!
