Untethered GreenposiOn jailbreak for 4.2.1 FW released

Jailbreaking will not change the baseband. Upgrading the Apple firmware will (say from v4.0.1 to v4.2.1).
You can also upgrade and preserve your baseband. I think once you upgrade your baseband using a official Apple firmware - it can not be downgraded (Its a one way process). So make sure there is an unlock first. Suggest you save your SHSH blobs, in case you want to downgrade your firmware (baseband will stay the same). Beware!

Right, my phone is officially unlocked (through o2), so all I do is just backup, Jailbreak and I'm sorted? I'm on 4.2.1 btw? Thanks.

Should be.

Although I'm unsure about how the O2 unlock works. I have an iPhone 4 and like you got O2 to unlock it - does this mean that this iPhone will remain unlocked forever, regardless of firmware and baseband?

Yeah, It stays unlocked forever I think... All I did was fill out a form online via o2 website, have £15 air time and they sent me a text saying connect it to Itunes and it was unlocked. Thanks for your help :)

Think the wifi issue was for the Apple TV. I just restored mine and rejailbreak using pawnagetool which has the fix for the Apple TV wifi issue. But that doesn't matter anymore cos the wifi issue has been fixed with an updated openssh.
