Right before I start :- No mention of links/hints for dodgy/warez maps please .

I've just bought a nice brand new Tomtom One from a high street shop to find that the maps are dated 24/8/05. Driving into London on the A10 north of Ware shows me as driving over fields

I've complained to Tomtom about having 8 month old maps but so far have only had stock replies

Could somebody else check their map dates ? , if they are newer I'll take it back to the shop and get a refund.

Charging full price for last years road atlas is taking the ****

subtle ^bump^

Somebody must have a Tomtom one that can tell me the date of the maps , pleeeeaaaase :)

Just got a mail from Tomtom support , they want my complaint in writing (not email ) before they will go any further with it  . I can't understand their problem in answering about map updates , it can't be an unusual request .

mines a 510 , doesn't seem to have that option

mine doesnt have an update option, but the maps are way out of date now came across a mini roundabout on the way to AGW's the other day, that had obviously been there a while because of the paint wearing off, yet tomtom didnt have it on :/

Tom.

Dont know the version i have but im in the same boat!!!! Going down the M1 you just seem to drive off into that landscape...

Had mine a few months now but it should have been up to date when i got it.... New maps cost more money witch i dont fancy paying for...

Shocking how they can do this realy...

Thing i found on there site tho... is that you have updates and maps...

The updates are free and they dont seem todo anything.. the maps cost X amount and thats where the problem is... its old maps with old roads that arnt used any more...
they must ship them with old maps just so you will buy new ones a few months later

Well im my case anyway...

You could have just been unfortunate enough to get an old box due to poor stock rotation.

TomTom use maps by a company called TeleAtlas (they have their own website) who don't seem (according to internet opinions) to have the best maps.

I "upgraded" mine a short while bnack, and it still doesn't have the new A120 that's been there 3 years. Idiots.

My GO500 has the v605 maps (bought it Last week!!) and apart from some missing 'Mini' painted roundabouts (it treats them like T/Cross Junctions) its pretty up-to-date!... even has the Newest Road Layout at the J13-M4/A34 interchange!... including the new bridge!.

How much do Map updates usually cost?, so I know for when I 'Have' to get one!.

Sim. :)

Sure your upgradeing the maps? I'll have a wage that your upgradeing the software/firmware and not the actual maps because all our TomToms (300s) have the new A120 and have done for the last year+.

The maps I believe you pay for yearly (59 euros or something) which entitles you to 1 year of upgrades to the maps. After that year you need to pay again if you want map upgrades. The software/firmware is always a free upgrade. I know that the traffic you pay for on a yearly basis (29 euros) after a year you will need yo go onto the website and pay for an extra year etc.

It was the tomtom 5 upgrade pack. I haven't found any other updates available. This is for tomtom on a PDA btw.

My TOMTOM ONE has v605 Maps, bought in Feb 2006..

Mine shows as v605 maps but if you connect it to the PC & check the file dates they are 25/8/05.

Still can't understand why Tomtom want me to tell them this in writing
