Up to what temp (celcius) can plastic handle?

PET (what pop bottles are made of) melts at about 120-130C, I checked as I used one as a makeshift hot water bottle the other day.

Like lots of people have said though it really depends on the polymer you want to use and what you want to do with it. Thermoplastics will melt and thermoset polymers will never melt, they just burn. There will be property charts somewhere on the internet, I know we used them at uni.
 
OP, i have some engineering plastic for a rapid-prototyping machine that melts at 60C.

seriously, it varies immensely from plastic to plastic.
