Seen above, the upcoming board features 6 phase PWM and supports Athlon II or Phenom II CPUs with a TDP of up to 140W, and has a black PCB, a relatively beefy cooling system, four DDR3-1800 memory slots, the BIO-unlocKING technology for unlocking processor cores, and four PCI-Express x16 slots for CrossFireX setups.

The TA890FXE includes one eSATA and five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, a FireWire connector, a debug LED, and nothing but solid capacitors.

I noticed the Asus Crosshair IV Formula on sale Friday, but held off purchasing as I woudn't be suprised if that retailer holds delivery till the 26th/27th.

It's only another week anyway, big deal I can wait another week.

I hope OcUK price for this board is the same or better than the retailer advertising it for sale, will be very disapointed if it isn't as I want to buy it from OcUK, I usually get robbed a good £10 extra buying motherboards from here.

I'm only buying 890FX because it's something new to play with, I bet it won't offer any real world performance increase over 790FX.

USB 3.0, Sata 3 & 4 graphics card lanes that hardly anyone will used because most people use 1 graphics card.

In reviews I would like to see equivelant 790FX clock for clock performance comparisions, also if 890FX can clock a CPU higher.

If it improves overclocking then it will be worthwhile, but I doubt it. Most review websites never show potential customers what they really want to know.
=( decided what 1 ur going for?
I'm going to go for the Asus Crosshair IV Formula most likely, better resale value anyway next year lol.

Gigabyte I think are the only boards that come with dual lan - handy for hooking up an X-box or future console for example to your pc, saves buying a wireless router.

ill be only using 1 card for now i might go for the Asus Crosshair IV Extreme depends on prices ne idea how much diffrence both will be?
Not sure at all, I bet the Biostar 890FXE will be around £120 as a wild guess, comes with USB 2.0 as spec but that's no major issue.

I reckon their will be no difference per board in terms of performance gaming wise at least, it's just paying for the make and features.

The Asus Crosshair IV looks abit of a fashion accessory lol, but that also generates sales, I probally wont cast eyes on my mobo untill it's replaced with a better board!

I recieved mine today, will be another day or two when I've finished all my benchmarks for 790FX vs 890FX.

Hidden link on the Asus website: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?content=specifications&P_ID=kPGmtxee5RsQVsXG

Gives full details of what comes with the Asus Crosshair IV Formula i.e. features, spec, downloads, memory/cpu support list, the link was available yesterday but they have hidden it for now, luckily I saved it. ;)

Am I allowed to link to the article on my website, so you guys can see all the pics Ive taken of the Crosshair?
Did you sign a Non-disclosure agreement? if not then you shoudn't have any worrys.

You are a customer of Asus, not someone paid to do a review of a freebie sample & sign an agreement.
