Updated BIOS for 5700x3d install now no power.

The update seemed to work so I installed the update a few days ago and had no time to finish and tryout the PC. I did put the cpu in and put my cooler but I never got around to trying the PC. So tonight I got a bit of time and decided to get some benchmarks in or let the pc do it's reboots while it train s for the new cpu or whatever it does after BIOS update and nothing happens when I hit the power button, like absolutely nothing, no lights, no fans spinning, no signal, no PSU noise etc etc.

Any ideas? I have a full custom loop inside my itx case and I really can't be arsed taking everything out and putting it all back in again if I don't have to. I've checked the connections between power button and motherboard, thry seem fine, I did unplug and plug them back in again.

EDIT - the lights to the audio ports on the rear I/O do light up but they light uo the second I either plug it in or flip the switch on the PSU.

I've just checked and unplugged and plugged the back in again. They are in pretty good.

Any other ideas?

Yea I had to remove the 20pin cable to try the tiny power button cables. Cpu is well in aswell... really frustrated. Wouldn't all them things still have the PSU make some noise or movement though? My mobo doesn't have a power button. Wish it did...

My mobo does have a light system for start up reporting - 3 colours, one for each cpu, ram and gpu. But absolutely nothing lights up apart from the audio ports at rear IO...

Pop out the motherboard battery for a minute or so.

Can't do that I'm afraid, I tried it a while ago and it's buried under a shroud, then a fan and then it's inside a plastic wrapper I would have to cut open. I have tried shorting the cmos pins. Made no difference.

It did boot after I done the BIOS update. I just didn't try it once I put the new CPU into the socket. It does have a BIOS flashback button. Bit I'm hoping it's not that, atleast I don't think it's that from my understanding.

I think I'm going to have to do a full remove and install of all the hardware again... was hard enough convincing my missus to bed the kids on one of my nights as it is lol.

Could you try the scew driver on the power pins trick?

It is very tight in there. I'm guna have to try it another day now. I was thinking about it but hoped for other ideas that may workout first. So I will give it a go when I get a chance. I suppose that's a drawback of building in an ITX case.

Thanx for all the advice. I'm going to try all these suggestions in my spare 5 to 30 mins per night between work and bed lol. Then maybe the next time I have a bit I can actually game.
