Hi All,

Anyone know of any software which can update the 3rd party applications on a domain for software like Adobe reader, java etc with a management console?

Thanks

You don't need a 3rd party software to install and update Adobe Reader or Java. Just use group policy and deploy the msis.

Haven't used SCCM, just SMS, is it much improved?

I'd say yes, however a lot of things you'll go wtf about at first as it feels initially more sluggish with the new mmc and the way updates work compared to ITMU. At first it seemed a step back but like it more now.

Still a few annoying niggles over sms but on the whole it's good :)

And yeah if you want something free just use group policy.

SCCM/Landesk are your friends for this kind of topic. Matter of taste and what you're used to. Personally I use SCCM '07, agree with Evo that it's a bit clunky, but once setup up (and it usually takes a lot of time), it works a treat.
