Hi all, I am wondering if you could help me out with some upgrade advice? I am looking to make an essential upgrade for my CPU, Motherboard and some RAM. The components I will be keeping from my current set up is a GTX 1080ti, 1000w Power Supply, SSD, Monitors & Peripherals.

I have a budget between £300 and £400 and would like to do some light gaming, any recommendations on a good set up for these 3 components would be greatly appreciated!

MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX edition
Ryzen 5 3600
16Gb Crucial Ballistix Sport 3200MHz Memory (AES in product code - clocks Well)

Should be approx £360

thinking of a similar upgrade at some point, why do you suggest 3200mhz ram and not 3600mhz?
or is it just a case of get the 3200 and OC it?

That particular brand of 3200MHz memory is Micron E-die (AES code) and will clock to 3600+ with decent timings (usually - but not guaranteed) - and only ~£75.

so it would be better to do that than the buy the cheapest 3600mhz ones with worse timings (18-22-22-42) and costing around £90?

never thought about getting a lower clock with better timings and just OCing it, great idea
really should brush up on my RAM knowledge as these timings can be confusing
