Upgrade a 7800GTX?

Ok, here's one for you GFX boffins...

Would swapping a 7800GTX-256mb for a 8600GTS-256mb be worth doing?

Cost is irrelevant as the card is free, so it's purely a question of would the 8600GTS give better performance.

7800GTX is a LOT better then 8600gts unless you want DX10

Overall there isn't much difference in performance between the 7800GTX (256Mb) and the 8600GTS (256) in most games the GTX is ~5-10% faster but in shader heavy stuff like Oblivion the GTS leads by quite a margin... I wouldn't say it was worth the change over, tho for free it does give you better future performance in shader heavy games and has better IQ plus HDR+FSAA...
