My`s sons tried everything but he can`t get the Rift S to work with his current rig, So I`m looking to upgrade the motherboard, cpu and ram. I have two questions will the ram in my basket work well with the mobo & cpu? And should I get a new PSU as the current one is four years old.

Many thanks.

From a value for money perspective, you'd be much better off just selling the whole system and building a new one. A GTX 970 running a Rift S is going to be a pretty terrible experience, and that is not what you want from VR.

The components you have chosen are fine, however the GPU will be holding back the VR experience significantly.

Thanks, I did offer to upgrade his GPU but he said there is no point, after looking around I have to agree theres only a few games that will struggle.
