A gaming old codger here!!! My current system is struggling with CODMW and PUBG (current game bug but unplayable as its affecting quad core processors. I dont keep up to date with hardware so haven't a clue where to start here, ideally want a new system and gaming monitor for under £1k

Current System :

i5 6600k
Gigabyte Z170-Gaming K3 Intel Z170
Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Red LED
Corsair Carbide 400Q Silent Midi Tower Gaming Case - Black (CC-9011082-WW)
250gb SSD for System
ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB M.2 Gaming Solid State Drive for games
Soundblaster XiFi Card
650w Corsair PSU
2 X BenQ EW2775ZH 27 Inch FHD 1080p

Keyboard/Mouse/Headset all high quality so no issues there. Monitors are lackluster for gaming so ideally would like to change to 1 monitor, not sure if I need higher than 1080p but would like to go to 144hz.

Old machine is going to son as a 2nd Streaming PC but I think I will rob the Soundcard and the M.2 Drive for new machine. So whats best bang for buck on the AMD front here.

Thinking I need

1 X CPU
1 X Mobo
16gb (min) Ram
1 GPU
PSU
Case
1 27" Monitor.

Can anyone point me in right direction here?

Just under your budget without a case; I leave that to your personal preference. I have included a SATA SSD drive for storage as 250 GB isn't that much any more.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £977.85 (includes shipping: £0.00)

If you have an extra £100 go for the Ryzen 3700 for the additional 2 cores as 6 cores will soon become a limitation.

If i wanted to go to 1440p and say put another couple hundred into this what would need to change?

Thanks for your reply Quartz, appreciated!!

Going up to 1440p does increase the price by quite a bit for the monitor and the gpu to drive it.

A TN option for faster response time and less ghosting if your a competitive player.

Make sure you get a monitor that is listed as having Freesynxc and as being GSync Compatible. This will allow you to use both Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
