Hi guys,

Currently i have:

I7 4790K
16gb ddr3 rams
and a 1070
along with an H100I cooler 280mm/240mm
2 240gb ssds OS on one other full.
2TB 3.5 HHD 60% full
4TB 3.5 HHD External HHD im going to pull apart.
1TB 3.5 HHD Old HHD kicking around some where.

im looking to move that set up into a MATX case, but there aren't many Z97's if any around. There is murmurings of using a H81 board, dunno how dependable that will be though.

The idea is to use this as a VR comp for my family to use. I wanna procure these bits first. probs looking to spend £300 on the mobo, PSU and case.

Currently have my set up in a NZXT H440. Should i bother to go small form???? that is the major question.

Case wise

A H81 board will be fine but you won't be able to overclock the 4790k as you need a Z87/Z97 board to do that. There is also the chance that a H81 board may been a bios flash before it will work with a 4790k and to do that you would need a original Haswell cpu not Haswell refresh or Devils Canyon which your 4790k is. The only board certain to work out of the box with a 4790k is a Z97 chipset board. I would just leave it the way it is to be honest as you are going to be paying a premium for a micro-atx Z97 board now. Prices on the likes of ebay are more than they were when new for second hand boards.
