My contract with Orange comes to an end in a couple of months, but as of April I can upgrade, which is perfect timing for the HTC One X. I've never done an upgrade before, only taken out new contracts, what can I expect in the way of deals? I've got quite a nice tariff atm, so wouldn't want to change that, but would like to make it cheaper and/or have a shorter contract this time round. What options can you haggle on?

Mine is due in a couple of weeks with Orange as well, would you mind taking a look at mine?

Paying £25 for 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 500mb data. Under 'Plan' it says Dolphin 30 Websave.

Thats a bit expensive for what you get Dunks, I pay the same on 3 and get 3000 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data, and although I don't get anywhere near the minutes, you should be able to get your plan on about £10 a month

Really? :o

I did get a 'free' HTC Desire HD with it, if that makes it any better.

I reckon a bit of haggling is in order come upgrade time... Hopefully the Galaxy S3 is out then too :D

you defo wont get any decent phone with orange at £10-15 contracts and no the S3 wont be out within the next 14 days with us, pretty sure we dont even have them in testing yet. ;)

Yeah, I'm not fussed with paying £25, if I get an S2 or whatever, it's a decent price I think?

Disagree.

With the SIII &HTC One series due shortly I'd expect the price of the SII HTC sensation to drop a fair way in the coming months.

I'd suggest doing what I have, which is get a Giff Gaff/ Simplicity/ ANO SIM and wait a few months for the prices to level off.

Well I'm kinda in need of a new phone soon, my Desire HD decided to break and it's out of warranty, so I'm expecting HTC to tell me to do one or pay up, I'd rather not continue to use this £10 replacement phone for much longer :D

Obviously will re-evaluate my situation if there's solid news of the S3 being released in the near future.

Problem is some people have no idea how the industry works and some people even think they still only pay peanuts for these high end phones. Soon as a handset start getting an old they stop ordering them in they dont sell them off cheap to get rid. On occasion when your ordering 50,000 units a week of model you get it wrong and have to do promo to shift stock lol. A new model just means that a new model it does not mean great prices on previous models at the higher end and this is for all networks. :)

Yep S2 id free on £25 price point at the mo
