As title really

My charger port has been playing up for a year and because I work outside, the earpiece gets blocked up.

So it's upgrade time. :D

What should I get at a £250 (ish) budget? I would get another Pocophone if it had NFC and the screen went to the edges instead of the odd gap where the screen doesn't go to the bottom off the phone.

TIA

So I smashed my phone screen and insurance have given me £350. Poco f2 is £340 on AliExpress. Anyone ever used them ?

I bought a xiaomi redmi note 8pro 8gig ram 128 gig storage a couple of months ago. Cost was around 210-220, very happy with it. Great photos and vids, super fast charging, reboot is like a gazillion times quicker than samsung. Once you disable as much of the dumbass adverts xiaomi insist on bloating their os with, you're good to go. I even got a free mi fit band with mine which is actually very decent for a freebie. Gone are the days of spending 50-60 a month on a contract, now on rolling with BT sim only for 15 a month, 30 gig and all unlimited.

Looks good but I think it's to much like the Poco F1.

Yeah, I came from an aged s7.. first time for me on the Showme brand, very happy with it.. mind on digging looking for my upgrade, seems the next step up is like in the 800+ bracket, and then not a serious difference in functionality. Phone makers need to realise, if you are taking photos, then you'll use a proper camera, the snaps while out and about on phones are already good enough, same with videos.. I can't in all honesty feel right about dropping 1k+ on the latest phone, when it doesn't do as good a job as the things it's supposed to replace. If it can browse internet, play the odd game, watch tv, take reasonable snaps while out and about, at £200 , where is the incentive to spend 1k+?

Totally agree. Crazy spending that sort of cash on a phone. I think £270 is the most I've ever spent.

It was funny when I got 2 of my friends to run a benchmark one there s9 and p30 when they were both new out and mine beat both hahaha. The screen on them phones are better but not and extra £600 better

Poco F2 would be a logical step up but unfortunately like everything with 5g this year its retailing at £400-500. If 5g isn't an issue then maybe something like Mi9T Pro. I'm sure I saw them for around 250 on eglobal Central.

Yeah I've been looking at them but £400 is more than I would like to pay.

No 5g wouldn't bother me. 4g is fast enough for my needs. I'll check out the mi9t pro, thanks for the suggestion.

Just looked it up. Definitely ticks all the boxes. If I can get one at a good price it could be my next phone.

Pretty sure eglobal was banned from HDUK due to malpractice.
I bought a RN5 from them couple of years ago without problem, but some people have been stung.

Well in that case. I would rather wait. I do need a new phone due to the charger port being a right pain. But I can hold out for a few more weeks or a month really.

The last 3 phones I've had I've made a thread on here and bought the phone the next day. Always been really good phones.

When I'm not drunk I'll make a mini list :)

I've been looking for an upgrade to my F1 recently too - decided just to stick with it as it has no problems yet. There just isn't much out there that's as good value. Anything around the £250 mark seems to either have a worse processor, is missing a card slot, is much bigger, etc.

I would like an AMOLED notchless screen though. I've been keeping my eye on the price of the F2 but it's still a bit higher than I'd like to spend.

I see they've announced the M2 today... which is exactly the same as the Note 9S.

I was holding out but I've broken my screen and on a pixel 2 that's very small.

Poco f2 can be had for £380 is bit that's over what I'm willing to spend on a phone.
