Upgrade from k750i to N70?

The k750i is one of the best phones i've ever used, however one pitfall of it is the joystick, i've had two die (in one or two directions) on me twice now. I've been offered an N70, all i'm really bothered about is how good it is at calls and photos! Running third party apps would be cool too. Is it a worthy upgrade? (Note N80, N90, W800i etc aren't available to me atm).

The N70 has it's own issues, mostly crashing and rebooting due to lack of memory, as well as occasional problems with call handover.

I'd actually go for either the W810i or K800i in preference. The W810i did away with the joystick, but is otherwise a very similar, while the K800i has a better camera, 3g access and is a very nice piece of kit.

would be a side step that I think, what network are you on? might be worth looking at the various pda style phones on offer spv/vario/xda if your wanting third party software support.

I am in pretty much exactly the same situation. I want a Symbian OS phone so I can run tomtom mobile. I cant get pretty much whichever phone I chose as I am going to switch to Orange from O2. Orange have a much better deal.

Candidates so far are:

Orange SPV M600.
Nokia N80
Nokia N73/N72
W950i

The only thing that is making me lean towards the N80 is the wifi support.

Not sure if you know but tomtom mobile doesn't run on symbian s60 3rd edition yet. Bit of a bummer.

As stated the N70 wouldnt really be an upgrade.. its getting on now and has a few issues.

I would suggest the K800i, W810i or if its the N70 features you're after then the N73 or N80.. but as these aren't available to you...

I went from a w800 to the N70 and really wish I hadn't.

Main reason was for tomtom but the N70 has so many issues with it it's untrue. Everything else the w800 did better.

Not yet, but Route 66 is already out and it's just as good.

Bummer it is. Thats the only reason I want a smartphone. Im not going to pay top dollar for a tomtom, I would rather have the mobile edn.

So aside from the N70, which I don't want, what other choices do I have to get sat nav on my phone?

just been offered the n80 for free on a 12 month o2 contract with 500 texts and 250 mins. Very tempted by this but also tempted to wait for the n73 and its superior camera.
