Upgrade idea

Hi guys,

Any advice be great currently running at 1440p, with a Sapphire nitro special edition 5700XT and Ryzen 5 3600 with 32bg 3200mhz overclocked to 3800mhz

Was looking at the cpu 5600x but not sure anything you would do?

Graphics cards upgrade will give you the most. There were some 6800XT's for sale start of week, sold out now though.

Depends on resolution of gaming. 4K, graphics, 1080P, CPU can influence gains whilst 4K is bound by graphics card....

Yes was looking graphics card think ill wait for the 6900XT down the line things are like gold dust these days, was thinking maybe 5600x for now then should be sorted until i can get GPU at reasonable price.

@VonScar Thats the one beauty, unfortunately cant purchased just at the minute due to funds since covid was made redundant

Would you keep the 3600 for now instead of going 5600x?

I would wait. 3600 is great value CPU, a 5600X is also great in gaming, but, is it worth £299.99? For a gain?

Yeah don't think it's worth it just at the minute. Think will wait and upgrade the GPU later in the year. What card would you consider?

A CPU change will make very little difference with your current GPU, a couple of fps at most when gaming at 1440p.

A 3070/3080 or 6800/6800XT would be good assuming you can find one in stock for a reasonable price.

You could probably get around £500 right now for selling your 5700XT as they make quite good mining cards so demand is high then with the £300 you were going to spend on a CPU should give you a budget of £800 with a net spend of only £300.

Same with your gpu 5700xt, its not that far from a 3060ti or 3070 in some titles. If you really want to try ray tracing you could sell it and trade up as Joxeon says. Otherwise you could relax and sit out this generation of gpu and the f5 battle to get cards and join in when the AMD 7000 series are out, when you will see a bigger jump over your 5700xt. https://youtu.be/DY-AVhhHut4?t=313

Just couple questions my msi 1440p 144hz monitor curved any monitors you would suggest?

Also my ram at 3200mhz had it overclocked to 3800mhz but with new bios update its unstable is there much gains or just stay on older bios?
