Upgraded to 4GB of mem but get lower Vista score than 2GB??

Hi
Just a quick one, i but put another 2x1GB sticks of Geil 800mhz low lat mem into my machine to match the pair that was already in it
Im using Vista 64bit and when i run the score test it comes in at 5.5 for mem with 2.0GB and 5.0 with 4.0GB!?

Is this right? Do i need to alter a setting anywhere?

Its a motherboard that supports obviously has 4 slots and 2 x 2 dual channel slots.

your boards probably slowed down the mem timings so it can handle 4gb's of ram, the mem test in vista measures mem speed not amount

Is this ok? Or would people try ajust the timings? Or am i just been silly?!

What i mean is is it worth tring to alter the timings? or would people just leave it as is and just accept more ram = slower ram!

well yeah you can mess with the timings if u ilke, but it will take a while find the sweetspot, whats res system?
