Have 'Titan Fusion' System.
Phenom II 550 BE running at 3.6GHz (18x multiplier)
MB is Gigabyte MA770-UD3
Was running 4GB (2 x 2GB) Corsair XMS2 Twin2X 8500C5 at 1066MHz no problem with these settings:
Clock @ x5.33
5T
6T
6T
16T
DRAM Voltage 2.1V

Upgraded to 8GB.
Put the extra 2 x 2GB modules in - Went thru POST fine, Windows booted fine, saw all 8GB as im running Windows 7 x64.
After 3 mins or so , blue screen STOP Error.
Tried rebooting, still BSOD.
Knocked CPU back down too stock settings.
After few tries, system would not get past POST
Left PC off for 10 mins or so, booted up OK, went into BIOS, set RAM to AUTO on all settings.
Rebooted, BIOS picks RAM up as 800MHz.
Now all running fine.

Memory is this stuff, and Ive got 4 x 2GB modules:

Whats the deal - voltages? Cooling? (Im running stock AMD CPU cooler and stock case fan).
Im thinking voltage on the DRAM, but Im no expert on these things.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks very much in advance.

i had a similar problem.

when i had 32bit OS i had 4gb(800mhz @950mhz) + i ran cpu @ 3.4ghz stable.
then i upgraded to 64bit OS and stuck in a similar 2x2gb memory totalling 8gb.
and i kept getting bsod.

slowly reduced specs and ran everest utlimate stability test until i finally got it stable @ 3ghz.

i tried different voltages etc but none gave me any luck.
so i just stuck with what i could get. Would be interesting to hear what others have experienced?!

I had this issue with using all memory slots and running uncompatible board memory. It turns out that a mass declock in speeds (if i wanted to use max ram) was in order. If i ran them at full speed with all slots the board just kept on falling over in windows.

What is odd is with ubuntu it worked fine for most of the time but still occasional lockups.

What chipset are you on? is it a x43 with max 8gb or a chipset that supports 16gb? if you are on one that is 8gb max you may more than likely have to declock for stability

Look on the modules themselves (there is an info-label) - mine say 2.3v on them to run at 1066MHz (or thereabouts). Seems they've made a batch that need a bit more juice - check yours. Also might have to see if you can put a little more voltage into the FSB

You are limited by your memory controller in this case. Your CPU/IMC will only support 1066 with 2 slots filled. You are going to need to clock back to DDR800. You may be able to clock up some from there but, I doubt you'll get back to 1066.
