So i was looking at the overclocked bundles OCUK do and they look great, but the rear end of my LianLi case will only accept one large fan for water cooling, ive got a corsair h80-i on there at the moment and my motherboards showing a cpu light which suggests that the cpu is fxxxkd and had its day (light on motherboard =red) which was nice to have 4.2 and 6 cores for £25 but i think its time ive moved on as ive had the mobo and ram 10 years !

Im looking at either diying the build with an I9 and the below in the build or getting a pre build from OC but the bundles all come with dual fans, my lian li case wont fit two fans vertically, i could bodge them to lift the air up and have an extractor but not sure this would be good enough to get rid of the head quickly enough..

Anyway build idea:

▷ Asus ROG Maximus XII Hero (WI-FI) (Socket LGA… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

▷ Team Group 8Pack RIPPED Edition 16GB (2x8GB) … | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk) *not sure i need more than 16gb as ive got 24 in the xeon and its fine..

▷ Samsung 980 Pro 250GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 4.0 x4 N… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk) for windows - got loads of other ssds for games etc.

processor:

▷ Intel Core i7-10700K Avengers Edition 3.8GHz … | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
or
▷ Intel Core i9-10900K Avengers Edition 3.7GHz … | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

For now ill use the 980ti ive got till some 3000 cards become available.

I understand that the new processors dont come with cooling, what cooler do i go for say if i 1) wasnt going to overclock 2) if i was going to do some mild overclocking -- remembering my case won fit the two fan option in my case.

Ive already got a corsair tx850 psu, nice but not modular... But should be ableo to run the above right? unless the mobo requires two 8 pin molex's - current asus rampage iii requires the one..

Merry Christmas & Thanks for the input. :)

Which case is it you already own??

What are your pc's uses??

Just interested in Intel??

Just air cool it. Most higher end air coolers will be beter at cooling than a single radiator solution anyway. Scythe fuma 2 for £50 for example.

Its a lian li server case, - well it seems to be - its 13 years old so i sort of forgot the model. Its got one space for a fan out back and then alloy above, then another slot for additional exhaust.

PC uses - gaming, some work related stuff like compiling java and simulations / data crunching in massive spreadsheets.

Yes just intel after my henious 3 experiences with AMD back in the day.

Ive just sort of heard that on linus tech tips. He bangs on about Noctua - havent air cooled in sometime. But my h80i was very good to keeping my xeon 5670 at 40/50 degrees. Funnily enough the AIO dont seem to perform as well as the noctua giants. Re: (40) Why you shouldn't water cool your PC - YouTube

I guess ill have to build my own basket and not go for a clocked 8 pack build then.

Thanks and Happy Christmas/Boxing Day !
