Well I've finally got the money together to pay for my upgrade (£750). Only a few months later than I thought... maybe a good thing with all this new stuff thats come out.

Anyways I need a new -

-CPU
-Motherboard
-Graphics Card
-RAM
-PSU (I might one day go for dual graphics cards so I'll need a little headroom here)

Thanks a lot.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail + Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Game £211.99 (£184.34)

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £142.98 (£124.33)
Corsair HX 750W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-750HXUK) £114.99 (£99.99)
OCZ Obsidian 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600Mhz Triple Channel Kit (OCZ3OB1600LV6GK) £79.99 (£69.56)
Sub Total : £651.25
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £10.00
VAT is being charged at 15% VAT : £99.19
Total : £760.44

This doesnt include an aftermarket CPU cooler, which if youre going to OC youll need to add in, you could go for the 1156/i5 system and save money, but if youre going for dual graphics in the future then 1366 is better

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Its very similar to a setup I was thinking about. I'm still not sure whether I ever will get a dual graphics cards so an i5 might be better for me and save some £££.

1 quick question for anyone out there, is the only difference between the 750W corsair PSU modular v regular that you can remove cables you don't need? Its just its out of stock atm and £20 more.

Thanks again

The programs that come with the board make OC disturbingly easy. You can tell the bios to sort an OC for you or you can do it while running the computer.

Or as showboat says:

Bigger psu, possibly not required, drop to 650 if dual card isn't important.

Or... fancy a 5870?
