I own some Z-640's but don't want to get some 5.1's with a huge sub, like the high end PC solutions include. What options does this leave me? I want to improve the sound with stuff my new X-Fi enables. Any ideas on what is out there? I do want 5.1, just not anything with such a huge sub woofer. Sure i can turn it down, but it's more about accessibility and moving house.

Yeah man, i know what you mean. I've had these speakers for a good 3 years and they've done a stellar job on supplying in ears with quality sounds, so why change it? Only issue is with an X-Fi i'm just curious is i'm lacking in the sound department. I don't want to buy a £200 set of speakers and for there to be little difference. A predicament i'm just going to have to live with for now.

you could always get an amp or av reciever of some flavour and a couple of bookshelf's to start with. they'll give plenty of bass without needing an extra sub. then when your ready or can afford you buy a center and a couple of rears for surroundsound.

would probs work out a bit more expensive in the long run, but you have more options when you want to upgrade in x number of years time :)

Yeah, i'm going over a mate who has a Cambridge A5 amp and Eltax Monitor III hi-fi speakers. Will see how it goes.

I too have a set of these speakers with the X-Fi Fatal1ty soundcard and I'm very impressed with them, no immediate plans to change them, excellent speakers for the money.

:D
