URGENT - Body repair shop in Bishops Stortford/Stansted Area

Still got my stock airbox back at home (140miles away) but the car went at 11 this morning so it's out of my hands now.

There is a bodyshop there called Hilton Coachworks. They are the parent company of Castle Lotus and do all the Lotus and TVR repairs... can't get much better when it comes to a bodyshop!

They're based in Bishops Stortford and Stansted Mountfitchet.

Spoke to the insurance co this morning, seems they are willing to pay for the repairs. Just awaiting the independent bloke to look at it and agree on the bill.

Weird part is the quote from the garage, £5K which is huge compared to the value of car which I'd say would be 6 to 6.5K on a good day.

Brilliant news. I remember the awful feeling i had with mine between it being collected and getting a call saying the repairs had been authorised. Hope it all goes well for you :)

Just hope they do a good job with nice panel gaps and colour match. Anything other than mint and I'm not accepting it.

On the other hand, I get to drive around in the 205 GTi for a couple of weeks :D

Exactly, only sign for it if you're happy. They'll be charging over the odds anyway so they can't complain.
 
Here are a few pics, just the external damage. Chassis leg is slightly bent and the offside engine mount may have a little damage.

At least I'll get a nice new bonnet and front bumper/lip as all were showing signs of wear in cracks/chips.

Oof very nasty!

It's good to hear that they've approved the repairs, hopefully you'll have your lovely car back to as it was in no time :)
