I quickly need to make a screengrab of an annotated Google map for submission to a newsdesk - since reinstalling my OS I've lost what I used to use. There seems to be a plethora of free apps out there but I'm wary of introducing spyware etc onto my otherwise clean system.

Any suggestions in the next 15 minutes would be great!

hi,
i use screengrabpro by traction software. pretty good little app.
also try looking in the forum sticky for freeware etc.
regards,
steve.

I'm going to have to ask as my curiosity has got the better of me,

What's wrong with the old

Press the print screen (maybe called PrtSc) button
Fire up MSPaint
Ctrl-V

You may now flame me for not fully understanding your post :D

exactly, why install an extra app when windows can do it fine..

convenience, most of the apps above allow you to grab only the section of the screen you want rather than the whole lot which then needs to be cut down. I don't see a problem in installing another app to do this?
