Urgent help needed! new build making high pitch sqeeking noise!

What could it be?

specs are below in my sig.

I've just put it all together and turned it on and its making this noise.

but it's like really really high pitch, piercing. like a siren.

Have you got the power connectors going to the gfx card?

i would think it would be the graphics as someone mentioned that when they turned off their pc the graphics would alert that they don't have enough power.

yeah i just realised i had the pci-e power cables not in the gpu. but before I tryed that I took out the motheroard power cable (the main one), and now i can't get it back in!! :eek:

ps dya need both the pci-e cable in the 8800gtx?

btw this is my first build so forgive me.

Yeah, plug them both in. As ThatJoe rightly suggested, the 8800 will squeal when they have low power, it also happens for a split second when you shut down the system for some people as the PSU cuts the power to the graphics card then shuts the system off, and for that little bit of time the squeal happens, in case you wonder about that too.

ooh ok thank you. thank you very much..

I've got the power cable in the mobo now just didn't realise you had to push so hard. I took the mobo out of the case and pushed against my hand so now i just gotta put it all back togethor, and fingers crossed it will work :confused:
