Hey :) I need to make this order within the next hour.

I would like you to suggest a good Motherboard that will be compatiable with the 580 Matrix platinum for around 100 pounds.

Thank you :)

Which intel?

LGA775
Socket 1156
Socket 1155
Socket 1366

What case do you have? is there a mATX size restriction for example?

is the mian negitive to the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-364-GI the fact that it dosnt run crossfire and sli?

It would be great if I could pick up a motherboard for that cheap as I'd be able to invest in a good case then.

I intend on OC my 2500k to around 4.5 and I dont intend on clocking the gfx card any time soon as I'm not confident in my ability to do so as of yet.

Also apparently the Matrix platinum takes up 3 expansion slots.

hmm spending so much on a graphics card yet getting a cheap motherboard, should really be looking at the asus maximus iv extreme-z or the gigabyte g1 sniper2 ;)

it really is a single card only board, it doesnt do sli, it does support crossfire but at 16x/4x so the second slot runs at a reduced bandwidth compared to the top.

Do you think it really have such a detriment on performance?

I have seen a number of people run 580’s on MB in the £100 range.

just pulling your leg :)

as long as you don't need sli, extreme overclocking or boards with hundreds(yes exaggeration) of sata, USB etc you'll be fine with the z68ap-d3 or other mbs in your price range(some offers such as on the ud5) will bring better boards into your range as well.

Plus the 850+ watt PSU you would be wanting.

Do you already have this card? are you sure it fits the case?
