Hi,

Right just had a load of "random" machines turn up in my Network, after doing a little more digging it appears to be the house across the road, I thought these things (Powerline Adapters) were only supposed to work over a "ring main".

One of the machines gave me a website a good clue about a website design company, rang them up and they're just across the road from me.

Now if this is a "hacking attempt" they really stupid as all of there machines were not even password protected, I could browse there machines at will.

Is it possible that somehow my network is "leaking out" over the mains!!

Yeah I realised that for flats, but I live in a detached house!! (there is no wireless)

I can tell it's the Powerline as if I switch it off the machines dissapear and I can no longer access or ping them.

surely u can give each homeplug access rights?

as each will have a different I.P...I'm no expert on these types of things though

Sure, they have "security setting" but being in a detached house I wouldn't need these as nobody else would be on "my ring main"!

They are ZyXEL PLA4205 500Mbps Powerline Adapters

After a quick scan around the "Interweb" it does appear that "leakage" could be an issue, even between "detached" properties.

It won't spin, but move very slowly, as you have standing charges, etc.

How far is the house across the road from you?

I have seen this in a row of houses, but never across a road, most interesting, keep us updated please, as I will be following this thread.
