I'm unsure if this really is true... but I bet they have fun installing the drivers for things... wonder if Windows comes with them already?

In 1998, however, a United States Navy destroyer, the USS Yorktown, was left stranded and vulnerable when its Windows NT-based control system failed.

Lol can just imagine:

"New Hardware Detected"

"50 Calibre Turret Detected"

"Installing Hardware"

"Your new hardware failed to install correctly and may not work properly"

"Should Windows search online for a driver?"

haha

Having said that, I remember reading the T&C/EULA with my NT4 and it stipulated that it should not be used for military systems, or at least they admitted it was not stable enough to do so.

I believe that is right however nowadays Windows is certified for use in military applications and does actually have the highest certification available. There's only a handful of other OSes with that and it's none of the obvious ones that come to mind ;):)

They have there own version of windows, including all land based mod stuff. Its cut down to bare essentials with no rubbish in it.

Seems windows will crash no matter what environment its in, my gps crashed onces with a fatal error to a windows desktop with "my computer" and "my documents" showing :o
