USA Mobile phone frequency ?

Hi

Does anyone know the frequency used for mobile phones in the USA ?

I have a dual band 900/1800 Mhz mobile and wondered if it will work when on holiday.

Believe you need a tri-band phone as states use 1900Mhz...

T-Mobile uses 1900Mhz exclusively whilst Cingular uses 850Mhz and 1900Mhz.

Most European phones are either tri-band (900/1800/1900) or quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) these days. You should only ever need 850Mhz in the more rural parts of the US.

Sadly, their 3G is also on a different band to the UK.
