I've got a 4GB lexar drive but it isn't enough to install some linux distros
so I want to get a bigger one.

What size should I get and what make?

which flash drives do you have and what do you use them for?

I have a couple of ocz rally turbo's 4gb versions, mainly used for transferring files between my laptop and desktop, also a great way of flashing my motherboards bios.

I've got one of these. Gets used every day for small files so its perfect. Needed the speed aspect really.

jsut an FYI on the Freecom Databars - i've been running several Portable Apps on them (8GB and 16GB versions). Never had a problem with the 16GB but the 8GB one has had a few issues with Thunderbird Address Books being lost/corrupted randomly on it (file loss/corruption). But it's always worked out solid after a format and starting over. Might just be the extremely heavy use I put it to (it's in constant use all day long with my e-mails).

I've got a couple of sandisk cruzer 16gb drives, are pretty nice, in fact I run OSX from one. :)

Did you have to do anything special to make the one for OSX bootable? I've heard some SanDisk drives don't like being made bootable (I want to use one with 2 partitions on it with about a 2GB partition for a lite Linux distro for the Netbook).

Not really, I use syslinux to load my OSX bootloader, and if you install syslinux in windows it writes the bootblock for you, I've got 4 partitions on the 16gb drive and it all works perfectly. You have to remove the U3 software first however...

Let me see..

Sandisk Cruizers - 3x 2Gb (Red, White & Blue) and 1x 8Gb (The black one).

Plus I have: 1x PNY 512Mb (old and nearly worn out), 1x Toshiba 2Gb (slow but steady) and some Freebee 128Mb thing I got at work - its made of Stainless Steel.. Looks cool but very S-L-O-W..
