Using 4gb 1066 MHz RAM, and 4gb 800 MHz RAM - is this bad?

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the ignorance.

I've got 4gb Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 (2x2gb) and 4gb standard DDR2-800 (2x2gb).

I put the DIMMs in the corresponding channels on the mobo, but the bios is reporting on boot that the 8gb ram is running at 800mhz. Is this correct?

Does all RAM have to run at the same clock speed?

Yes all memory will have to run at the same clock speed so it'll all slow down to match the slowest memory.
