using a 3g phone as a aircard

Does anyone use a phone for EDGE/GPRS or 3G internet access for there laptop? I will be moving around a lot over the next couple of months and am thinking this is the best option. Also can you use blue-tooth to connect to your phone for internet access?

My dad did it with an E63 and it cost him a fortune. Youd be better off with a mobile broadband dongle

i thought a lot of companies had in their t&c's that you were not allowed to use a mobile phone as a modem.

I am in Thailand, so the price is pretty reasonable. They encourage you to do it over here, air-cards are stupidly expensive tho. I want new phone so thought it would be a good excuse to buy a one.

ive used my e71 for use on a laptop via usb, you gotta be careful how much you use it though, because although my contract is unlimited data usage i think they can differentiate from using it on a laptop and using it on a phone, you'll get away with it but just not all day usage or going overboard with it i would imagine, checking emails etc every so often through the day would probably be fine!
